About Me

Whilst living in the Far East in the early 1980s I completed a counselling course at Singapore Social Services after which I volunteered as a telephone counsellor for the Samaritans of Singapore. Working in the Far East helped me to develop good understanding of cross cultural issues.

On my return to the UK in 1984 I continued as a volunteer counsellor for the Samaritans for two years before training with Relate as a couple counsellor. From 1990 I worked for eight years for Relate as a counsellor, seeing couples and individuals. I was a trainer with Relate before training as a psychosexual therapist specializing in sexual dysfunctions and sexual abuse trauma. Further training with the Institute of Child Mental Health enabled me to treat children, adolescents and their families.

On leaving Relate in 1998 I worked for twelve years for a large GP practice in Essex. At the same time I treated people privately, working from my home as well as from The Priory Hospital Chelmsford. I have over 30 years experience as a counsellor and 18 years as a psychosexual and relationship therapist.

My consulting room is at my home in the beautiful village of Kersey. Parking is on the road outside my house.
